In order to use it, the US Army had to practically fight with the USAF who wanted the monopoly on tactical combat machines. This aircraft made the helecopter enter a new phase of its history... pure combat. Two-seater, capable of counter-attacking with its mini-gun and rockets, the AH-1 Cobra was an assault aircraft conceived to clear the landing zone and open the way for the squadrons of Huey 3’s.
