The AH-1W Super Cobra can be considered the most powerful of the Cobra variants. This aircraft is longer and has a chin turret and fin different from AH-1J and AH-1T models. The W model is easily recognized because of these large ’gills’ which are the exhaust outlets of the two T-700-GE-401 turbines which give a cruising speed of 282 km/h. The Super Cobra has one of the best weight/power ratios of any attack helicopter in service.
