The Bristol F2B is a two-seat, single-engine biplane fighter with pilot and gunner seated in tandem. Derived form Bristol’s similarly configured F2A, the F2B fighter first entered service on the Western Front in June 1917. It immediately made inroads against the ’scourge’ of the RFC, the Albatross DIII, the ’new’ aircraft benefiting from the extra power produced by its Falcon III engine, which boasted 275 bhp. The aircraft remained in production until December 1926, by which time some 5100+ had been delivered.
