Through the 1980s, a handful of piston-engine C-131A and turboprop VC-131Hs were used by the US Air Force, Air National Guard, and US Navy Reserve, respectively. The C-131 has since been replaced by the C-9, C-12, and C-26 in USAF/ANG service. Also, several C-131s remained active with the Department of State in 1994.
