The C-21A Learjet 35A is used for cargo and passenger airlift within the United States, during intra-theater operations and is also the USAF’s twin turbofan OSA (operational support airlift) transport. Although not routinely used for this purpose, the C-21A is capable of transporting litters during medical evacuations (2 litters and one attendant). Its maximum range is 2,567 miles (4131 km) and it can land on a runway 3,075 ft (937 m) in length, with 45-minute fuel reserve. Some 79 C-21As are in the active force (of the 80 built), while four serve with the ANG.
