The C-9B Skytrain II was developed by McDonnell Douglas in the mid 70’s in an effort to modernize the Navy’s small but important fleet of transport and logistics support aircraft. The Skytrain II possessed a forward cargo door as standard, allowing it to operate in all-cargo, all-passenger or mixed cargo/passenger configurations, according to requirements.
