The MC-130H Talon II was one of the early aircraft used for testing with the 418th Test Squadron at Edwards AFB. It was the latest Special Operations version of the Hercules, readily identified by its enlarged radome which encloses a new radar. It has a FLIR turret mounted underneath and its specialist equipment includes a low-level aerial delivery and container release system, and comprehensive defensive countermeasures. The standard Hercules has a flight deck crew of three, two pilots and a navigator, an electronic warfare officer and usually carries one or more loadmasters.
