The OH-58C is an upgraded OH-58A with more powerful engine and transmission and an upgraded navigation and instrumentation capability. The Army uses the OH-58C model as accompanying scouts that compliment Apache and Cobra gunships. It is a light reconnaissance helicopter that can accommodate two pilots side-by-side. The Kiowa can control missiles from other helicopters without revealing its location. Its has a maximum speed of 147 mph (237 kmh), range of 250 nm (463 km) and is powered by one Allison 250-C30R turboshaft (650 shp / 485 kW). Variants for this type include the Kiowa Warrior, the armed version OH-58A/B/C.
