P-40’s took off from Bellows Field to hit the Japanese as they were attacking Pearl Harbor. Many enemy aircraft fell as a result of this courageous Air Corps action. The P-40 went into combat with two different types of engine, much improved armament, better cockpit visibility and a significant increase in capability. It remained in action in certain parts of the world until the Axis finally surrendered.
