The RF-80A was the version of the Shooting Star reconnaissance aircraft, that was earlier known as the F-14A, and later the FP-80A. Production of the RF-80A covered 38 aircraft that began as P-80A's, a further 114 new aircraft were built. In addition, 66 F-80s, were later modified to become RF-80As. This was the USAF's primary tactical reconnaissance platform of the late 40's and early 50's before being replaced by the Republic RF-84.
