The SA-16 Albatross was a medium amphibious craft, which appeared in prototype on 24th October 1947. Large number of these aircraft was used, not only by the US Navy, but also by the USAF and by many other allied Air Forces. The SA-16A was the basic production model and was followed in 1956 by the prototype of a second version, which was structurally modified and more powerful (SA-16B), many of the early aircraft were subsequently converted.
