The T-2 Buckeye is another stalwart of the training program having originally entered service more than 30 years ago, in 1959. The T-2C ultimately became the most numerous version of the Buckeye, with the first of a total of 231 aircraft being delivered to Naval Air Training Command on 30 April 1969. This model is a two-seat trainer configured with a tandem cockpit and arrester hook gear for carrier deck operations. Wingtip fuel tanks are normally fitted. Wing pylons allow for up to 640 lb (290 kg) of bombs or rockets to be carried.
