The T-38 Talon is the USAFs standard advanced jet trainer intended for routine flight at supersonic speeds. The T-38 is a conventional twin-engine jet trainer, with a cantileverd low-wing and extremely small, sharp-edged wings, light-weight airframe, and a slender, area-ruled fuselage. It is able to carry two people to maximum weight of 250 lb (113 kg) each plus up to 600 lb (272 kg) in a centerline external travel pod.
