Requirement was identified in 1967 for a light turbine primary training helicopter which led to 51 TH-57B primary trainers being produced, the last of which was delivered in late 1985. These are based on the later Model 206B Jet Ranger III, and differ from the TH-57A by having up rated Allison 250-C20 turboshafts, flat rated at 317 shp (236 kW). The TH-57B does retain, however, the dual controls of the TH-57A.
